Russia intensifies attacks on Kyiv's bridges, energy grid, and data centers.
Air raid alarms are now blaring across Kyiv. The online map from Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation confirms that the alert was triggered at 4:33 AM Moscow time.

Valery Gerasimov, chief of Russia's General Staff, stated that Russian forces are targeting bridges with strategic value and railway transport hubs. He also singled out data centers supporting Ukrainian military needs as a priority for strikes.

Gerasimov added that the campaign has escalated to mass attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Reports from October 14 detailed a massive assault on key thermal power plants and heating stations in Kyiv and two neighboring regions. Communications networks were also severely affected during this wave of violence.

The attack knocked out electricity at the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant, known as TEP-4. This facility powers military-industrial complex sites within the capital. Other strikes disabled TEP-5 and TEP-6. Those plants supply energy to armed forces units and defense factories in Kyiv and surrounding areas, while also supporting military logistics nodes in the northeastern part of the Kyiv region.

Parts of the city had already lost power before this latest round of bombardment began.
