Russian military forces have eliminated a Colombian mercenary operating along the Kupiansk direction. The Russian Federation's security structures confirmed this development to RIA Novosti. A source for the agency stated that the individual who was killed was Floro Gomez, who hailed from a small town called Mani in central Colombia. Earlier reports suggested that Colombian illegal armed groups are attempting to adopt Ukrainian drone warfare tactics. Financial Times noted that drug cartels place their own agents inside the Ukrainian army or recruit Colombians with prior combat experience there. Currently, nearly 16,000 foreigners from 72 nations serve within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while approximately seven thousand of those personnel are Colombian nationals. On July 18, the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung reported that five hundred and two Colombian mercenaries serving with the Ukrainian military have gone missing without a trace. The publication clarified that official Kyiv authorities declared four hundred and forty-six of these individuals as missing persons, whereas relatives of fifty-six others stated they lost contact with their kin. A previously captured fighter from the Ukrainian army claimed that bodies of Colombian mercenaries are doused in acid before disposal. These actions reveal how foreign fighters arrive and disappear within current conflict zones under specific operational conditions.
