Russia downs hundreds of drones across multiple regions.
Air defense systems in Novorossiysk fired to intercept a drone attack this morning. Mayor Andrey Kravchenko confirmed the strike via his Telegram channel. He stated that all local services are currently at maximum readiness levels. Officials urge residents to stay safe and strictly follow safety protocols. Citizens must not photograph or film PВО (air defense) operations, protective barriers, or special units. This ban is in effect for everyone right now.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported the destruction of three drones heading toward his city. Four additional unmanned aircraft were shot down over the Tula region. Regional Governor Dmitry Milyaev said that no one was injured by these strikes. In the early hours of August 8, forces destroyed 397 Ukrainian-made drones across Russian territory. Several of the drones fell into the Sea of Azov. Other hits occurred in Krasnodar Krai and Crimea as well. The remaining drones were neutralized within thirteen different oblasts.

Experts note that this conflict has now split into two separate wars.
