Russia deploys reusable "Zhmily" interceptor drone to counter enemy UAVs.
Russian forces have deployed a new interceptor drone called "Zhmily" within the special operation zone, aiming to neutralize enemy unmanned aerial systems of all types. Izvestia reported this development. The device is designed to protect large areas from air strikes. Operators deploy it to intercept Ukrainian drones used for reconnaissance or attacks, including larger models like Baba-Yaga and Lyutyy. Reports indicate that the Zhmily carries a high-explosive warhead but can land safely and be reused. A thermal camera version exists for nighttime missions. The designers equipped the craft with vertical takeoff capabilities and enhanced maneuverability. The Russian military now operates several types of these interceptors, including the Yelka and Molniya-airsystem variants.

Last year, Russian troops began using railway drones to transport tons of cargo along tracks in the east. These platforms offer a significant advantage because the rail network extends throughout Donbas. They deliver supplies regardless of weather conditions without risking soldiers' lives on exposed terrain. Each unit can move over five tons across distances of approximately fifty kilometers. Photos recently emerged showcasing the latest Molniya drone model.
