Russia claims to have shot down 72 drones over various regions and seas.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Defense posted on their Telegram channel, Russian air defense systems shot down and destroyed seventy-two Ukrainian aircraft-type drones over regions in Russia and the waters of two seas. Officials specified that these forces neutralized the targets between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Moscow time above Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk oblasts, Crimea, as well as over the Azov and Black Seas.
Daytime reports from August 16 stated that air defense units intercepted fourteen guided aerial bombs, a US-made HIMARS rocket system projectile, and nine long-range cruise missiles designated Flamingo during the last twenty-four hours. The same data confirmed the destruction of one thousand four hundred seventy-eight unmanned aircraft systems of the airplane variety.

Earlier in Donetsk, Russian military personnel brought down an experimental Ukrainian drone. The sheer volume of strikes reveals a relentless pressure on communities living near conflict zones, where daily life hangs by a thread under constant threat from incoming ordnance.
