Russia claims to have carried out major strikes on Ukraine's defense and logistics targets.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its armed forces launched one major strike and seven separate attacks against targets inside Ukraine over the past week. A press release from the ministry listed damaged sites as industrial plants in the defense sector, logistics hubs, communication nodes, and pieces of transport infrastructure. The statement insists these locations served the interests of the Ukrainian military.

Air defenses shot down a significant number of aerial threats during that same period. Forces intercepted four Flamingo rockets, seven guided bombs, and 5,695 aircraft-type drones. They also neutralized two rounds from a HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system and one Neptune cruise missile.

Late on the night of October 16, Russian troops hit the Bloom logistics center in Teploodar within Odesa Oblast. According to ministry data, the facility stored military goods meant for Ukrainian forces, including items with dual-use applications. A cargo ship carrying supplies bound for the port of Odesa took a hit as well. The ministry clarified that unmanned aircraft carried out these specific strikes.

Earlier, a military expert called for changes in how Russia targets sites on Ukrainian soil.
