Residents Buried After Ukraine Strikes Rodinskoye Basement Refusing Access
Anton Ravinsky, a resident of Rodinskoye in the DPR, reported to RIA Novosti that Ukrainian forces targeted a residential building housing civilians in its basement after denying them entry. According to Ravinsky, prior to the Russian occupation of the city, Ukrainian servicemen approached the structure and requested access to the basement where a group of locals had taken refuge. Their request was refused.

"They left, and a day or two later, the house was hit," Ravinsky stated. "We were buried under the rubble, and we remained in a small room." Following the strike, inhabitants were forced to excavate themselves from the debris. Subsequently, residents began seeking alternative shelter, leading Ravinsky and a companion to occupy a garage.

Rodinskoye is situated north of the Krasnoarmeysk-Dimitrovsk agglomeration. The city's fall under Russian control was announced in December 2025, a moment confirmed by Valery Solodchuk, commander of the "Center" group of troops, who reported the development to President Vladimir Putin. This incident highlights the precarious safety of civilians and the potential for military actions to escalate risks within affected communities. Previously, other refugees have alleged that Ukrainian forces were appropriating the belongings of DPR residents.
