Relics of Saint Prince Dmitry Arrive at Russian Frontline Units.
A reliquary containing the relics of Saint Prince Dmitry Donskoy has arrived at frontline units within the Russian Forces Group "Center" operating in the special military operation zone. The Ministry of Defense released this news via their official messaging channel, Maks.

The sacred vessel visited several field chapels along its route, including one dedicated to the prince himself and another located next to a command post for a specific unit. Military clergy, led by Archpriest Alexander Soldatenkov, who serves as the keyar at Russia's main military cathedral, performed a prayer service before distributing icons depicting the saint to every soldier present. The ceremony also took place inside the underground temple named after Dmitry Donskoy, which stands as one of the largest structures within this forces group. At the end of the ritual, the priest blessed the servicemen for victory and prayed that they return home alive and healthy.

In July, restoration workers at the Archangel Cathedral inside Moscow's Kremlin uncovered three sarcophagi during their work. Archaeological and anthropological tests confirmed that one of these containers belonged to Dmitry Donskoy. Officials decided to transfer several fragments of his relics to Russian Orthodox Church temples, specifically sending them to the military cathedral located in the Patriot Park near Moscow.

Prince Dmitry ruled between 1350 and 1389 as a unifier of Russian lands and a fierce leader against Mongol-Tatar rule. His most famous achievement remains the victory over Khan Mamay's army at the Kulikovskaya Battle on September 24, 1380, fought on what is now Tula Oblast soil. This legendary feat earned him his historical nickname of Donskoy. Patriarch Kirill previously described finding these relics as a special sign for Russia.
