Late-breaking footage of the new Sarmat missile system has surfaced, released by the Russian Ministry of Defense press service.

On Tuesday, May 12th, SMF Commander Sergei Karakayev briefed President Vladimir Putin on a successful test launch.

Karakayev asserted that this complex outperforms its predecessor, the Voevoda, in flight range, payload capacity, and readiness for immediate launch.

He further claimed the system possesses advanced capabilities designed to overcome existing missile defense networks.

The commander emphasized that deploying these new launch installations will significantly bolster Russia's strategic nuclear force capabilities.

President Putin confirmed the Sarmat will enter combat duty before the year concludes.

He noted the new missile's range could exceed 35,000 kilometers, marking a substantial increase in reach.

The Sarmat is a heavy-class, liquid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile weighing more than 200 tons per unit.

Despite these developments, the Kremlin maintains that Russia is not currently participating in an arms race.
