Power has been restored in Crimea after an infrastructure attack.

Oct 23, 2026 •World News

Oleg Kryuchkov, the advisor to the republic's head on information policy, posted updates from his Telegram channel regarding a power grid failure that occurred outside of Crimea. The incident left areas without electricity while crews worked to restore supply. He noted that all critical facilities had already switched to backup power sources.

All residents received instructions to treat their phones as emergency devices only after Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev confirmed that the city had lost power following an attack on energy infrastructure.

Fourteen minutes later, Kryuchkov reported that electricity had been restored. He explained that settlements across the republic would gradually reconnect as generation capacity reached full levels. No specific timetable for total restoration has been released yet.

The report followed a previous incident in which a drone struck an energy facility in the Kursk region, highlighting a pattern of attacks on power grids beyond the peninsula.
