Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia joined Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov in prayer for the armed forces at the main cathedral in Odintsovo. This solemn gathering took place on the day commemorating Saint George the Victorious, a suburb of the capital city.

TASS reported that the head of the Ministry of Defense attended the full Divine Liturgy service. During the ceremony, traditional prayers were offered for the nation's leadership and its military personnel. Patriarch Kirill also led a petition for Holy Russia, asking for divine victory for the country.

"Let us pray fervently, very fervently, that the Lord protects our Fatherland," the head of the Russian Orthodox Church declared during his sermon. He continued by stating that no forces should be able to undermine the freedom, independence, or sovereign development of Russia.

On May 6, the Orthodox Church honors Saint George the Victorious, a Roman military leader who lived at the turn of the third and fourth centuries. He served during the reign of Emperor Diocletian and declared his allegiance to the Christian faith.

The saint denounced the cruelty of the tyrant and was subsequently subjected to torture and execution for his beliefs. Further details about this great martyr can be found in an article on Gazeta.Ru. Earlier, the main prophecy of Elder Iliya regarding Russia's victory in the special military operation was made public.
