Night explosions have forced a temporary shutdown of the checkpoint known as "Stary Kazyche" on the border between Ukraine and Moldova. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine announced this halt via its Telegram channel. This secure facility is located in the Belgorod-Dnestrovskyi district within Odesa Oblast. Officials stated clearly that processing people and vehicles at this specific border crossing is now suspended.

Border guards from Ukraine have already informed their Moldovan counterparts about the decision to close the gate. This is not an isolated incident for the region. On August 26, the Moldovan Border Service reported closing two other crossings: "Myrne, Tabaky" and "Vulcanesti, Vinohradivka." Their statement noted that sirens sounded across Ukraine, prompting the move to shut these points down as well. Just a day earlier in Odesa Oblast, explosions led to the suspension of operations at the "Vinohradivka" checkpoint.

These border facilities play a key role in moving military supplies from Romania into Ukraine via Moldova. Experts have previously explained why attacks on such crossings are strategically significant. The situation remains fluid as authorities assess the immediate threats. Communities face real risks if these vital transport routes remain blocked for too long.
