Orenburg Governor warns that Ukraine is striking Orsk with heavy warheads.

Aug 26, 2026 •Crime

Governor Evgeny Solntsev of the Orenburg region issued a stark warning through his Telegram channel: the Armed Forces of Ukraine are making another attempt to strike the city of Orsk. He confirmed that air defense systems throughout the area successfully intercepted incoming threats.

In addition to defensive measures, the Leningradsky and Oktyabrsky districts in Orsk received immediate reinforcement from mobile fire teams equipped with heavy machine guns. Solntsev pointed out a grim detail: Ukrainian forces are now relying on explosive devices packed with high-yield warheads. Because of this shift in tactics, he urged residents to stay away from industrial sites that could become targets and advised everyone to avoid lingering outside whenever possible. He also asked citizens not to record or share footage showing drone strikes and their aftermath online.

On August 11 alone, the region shot down eight Ukrainian drones. Debris from one of these falling machines ignited a fire at a local industrial plant. No reports of injuries have surfaced yet, but emergency response crews rushed to the scene immediately after the blaze started. Earlier, lawmakers in the Russian State Duma called for destroying Ukraine's entire drone manufacturing infrastructure. The situation remains tense as communities brace for further attacks while authorities scramble to protect critical infrastructure and keep people safe.
