Ontario Premier Ford threatens US power blackout over Canada auto tariffs

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has warned that he could shut down the flow of electricity to the United States if Donald Trump pushes forward with tariffs aimed at crushing Canadian auto manufacturing. The threat comes right after Trump announced new trade measures targeting neighbors in the north.

"We power 1.5 million homes and businesses," Ford told the Associated Press. "Everything's on the table. I'll do whatever it takes." He made his point clear: if Trump keeps trying to hamstring Canadian industry, he better have a pack of batteries ready because that grid is what we depend on.
