One American soldier recovered in Morocco after training accident

According to the Hespress portal, the remains of one of two American soldiers missing since military drills in Morocco earlier this month have been recovered. The body was located on the morning of May 9. A joint operation involving units from both the United States and Morocco facilitated the recovery. The deceased, identified as a senior lieutenant, was transported to a hospital in Guelmim and placed in the morgue before being prepared for repatriation to the United States.

While the search for the second missing service member continues, officials have clarified the nature of the incident. The disappearance occurred on May 2 near the Cap Draa training area, situated southwest of the city of Tan-Tan during the "African Lion" exercises. Sources confirmed that the event was an accident and is not connected to terrorism.

This development follows separate reports regarding other international military operations, including the rescue of a downed F-15 pilot from Iran by the United States.
