NY Doctor Sues Exotic Dancer For Alleged Blackmail Over Affair
Dr Keith Hoerning, a 51-year-old physician based in New York, has turned to a Suffolk County judge with an urgent plea: dismiss the lawsuit filed by Rosana Kissoon and his wife, Nicole. The legal battle centers on accusations that Kissoon, a 39-year-old exotic dancer, blackmailed Hoerning for months. She allegedly demanded cash handouts in exchange for keeping their secret romance hidden from the public eye.
Kissoon told the court last month that Hoerning chased her into an eighteen-month affair. He reportedly showered her with money and professed his love while repeatedly promising to leave his family so they could build a life together. She claims he made these vows before she finally exposed their relationship to Nicole, who is 34 years old. After the wife found out, Hoerning allegedly tried to have Kissoon arrested and sought a restraining order by painting her as a violent threat to his household.

Now Hoerning is fighting back with his own sworn statement. He describes their connection as the worst mistake of my life in a filing released on Thursday. The doctor argues that the substantial sums he transferred were not acts of romantic generosity but payments made under duress due to Kissoon's increasingly volatile demands and threats. Alongside this motion, Hoerning submitted screenshots of alleged text exchanges showing how her aggression escalated as their affair began to collapse.

One message allegedly captured on screen shows Kissoon asking: Are u willing to pay me to let this go and leave u alone? This plea followed a string of complaints where Hoerning prioritized time for his wife over her. Kissoon reportedly wrote: All I wanted was for you to try and make us happy. You never even try. U are only doing things for that relationship not ours.
The tone of the texts turned considerably darker in other exchanges. Kissoon allegedly told Hoerning, From now on you will only pay me, before declaring minutes later: I want u dead. She warned him: If i have be with u I'll end ur family. In response, Hoerning wrote apologetically: I'm sorry and I don't understand what happened.

In another exchange, Kissoon allegedly threatened to kill Hoerning's father-in-law after suggesting he was standing in the way of their relationship. I will get him killed, she wrote according to the exhibit. If hes why we cant be together. Hoerning replied: I dont want you to hurt anyone before repeatedly urging her to stop.
The filings also show fights where money and the prospect of exposing the affair became intertwined. Kissoon allegedly wrote in one exchange: I want it all. You said you will pay for my car... You want her ok... The documents paint a picture of a relationship that devolved into extortion rather than romance, with Hoerning claiming he was forced to comply with threats against his family members and reputation.

It will be a price ok," Hoerning replied to Kissoon. Later he stated, "I can't be if you keep acting this way," before adding, "I paid bc you told me." In another exchange, Kissoon is alleged to have written: "It's over…I never cared about u… I used u." These texts are followed by nine individual messages that read: "I want to call her," appearing to reference Hoerning's wife, Nicole.

"I don't know why u are being like this…Please stop…Pleas [sic] just stop," Hoerning pleads in response. His attorneys claim the messages show Kissoon was using the threat of disclosure to extract money from the doctor. This is an allegation she has previously disputed through her lawsuit, which characterized the payments as voluntary financial support during their relationship.
"I met Rosana Kissoon and developed a relationship with her that reflects the worst mistake of my life," a sworn affirmation from Hoerning reads. "Capitalizing on my mistake, Ms Kissoon began demanding money from me on the threat of exposing our secret relationship to my family, and she engaged in other threatening and menacing behavior." Hoerning is a family physician with 25 years of experience. He called his relationship with Kissoon in a sworn declaration the 'worst mistake' of his life.

Kissoon is seeking damages that could exceed $1 million. Her attorney has not yet responded to Hoerning's filing. Hoerning said that he eventually hired an attorney, ended the relationship and made clear he would no longer be 'caving' to Kissoon's alleged threats. "The present lawsuit appears to be an attempt to continue menacing and embarrassing me, now out in the spotlight of public litigation filings, even though the suit is completely meritless on its substance."

Kissoon's attorney, Michael Treanor, has not yet returned a request for comment on the new filings. In earlier remarks to the Daily Mail, however, Treanor rejected suggestions that Kissoon had pursued Hoerning for his money and insisted she had genuinely believed they were building a future together. "When I took on this case, it didn't strike me as a gold-digger situation," he said. The core dispute remains whether these interactions were consensual or driven by coercion, with the public eye now watching how each side frames the narrative in court documents.
Keith Hoerning told the Daily Mail that he felt Karen Kissoon cared for him deeply. Treanor countered by accusing Hoerning of turning the legal system against his client once their romance ended. He said she found out her future was gone, and then Keith brought the entire judicial force down on her head. Barket had already claimed Kissoon blackmailed him before Thursday's filing. He told reporters that her lawsuit is filled with lies and that he possesses text messages proving an extortion plot. Hoerning described himself as a married man who made an error and was subsequently targeted for money. He did not rule out criminal charges against Kissoon for her alleged conduct. One of the texts shared in the filing showed Kissoon and Hoerning arguing over car payments. The message allegedly read, I want it all...you said you will pay for my car. Hoernings attorney also told the Daily Mail that the suit was filled with lies and backed up claims with text messages proving an extortion plot. The couple asked a Suffolk County judge to throw out Kissoons entire case. They argued that even if her version of events is accepted as true, she still has no valid legal claim against them. They also want it declared a SLAPP suit, essentially accusing Kissoon of weaponizing the courts to punish them for reporting her to police and seeking protective orders. If the judge agrees, Kissoon could potentially be ordered to pay their attorney fees and other damages. Kissoon is seeking damages that could exceed one million dollars. She accuses the Hoernings of abusing the legal process, defaming her name, and intentionally causing emotional harm after she exposed the affair. Her attorney Michael Treanor previously told the Daily Mail that Kissoon believed Hoernings promises of a future together. He said she had been victimized when the relationship instead ended in police action and court filings. It is not just that she thought she was going to have a better life, Treanor noted. She has done nothing wrong but have a relationship with Mr. Hoerning. Barket offered a starkly different view, portraying Kissoon as the aggressor in this drama. He likened her lawsuit to a burglar attempting to sue a homeowner after getting hurt during a break-in. It is frivolous and insane, he claimed. He said he cannot believe she found a lawyer to bring it. This certainly explains in part why our profession is not always held in high esteem.
