Newlywed Found Dead After Vanishing While Battling Diabetes
A fresh heartbreak has struck a newlywed couple in upstate New York as Dominick Bianchi, 35, was discovered dead in a wooded area nearly a week after he vanished from their home. The tragedy unfolded just days after his new wife, Julianna Zyra, went public with a desperate plea for him to return safely.
Police announced the grim discovery on Sunday evening. Bianchi had been last spotted at the family property in East Greenbush, located about five miles south of Albany, around 10 am last Tuesday. Authorities have not yet revealed the precise location where his body was found or offered any details regarding the suspected cause of death.

The loss comes after Julianna Zyra, now a widow for just a few months, shared that her husband had been battling mental health struggles before he disappeared. Compounding the fear is his diagnosis with type 1 diabetes. Loved ones suspect he may have wandered into the woods without access to insulin, leaving him in a critical condition.
East Greenbush Police Department Detective Sergeant Michael Guadagnino issued a statement filled with sorrow for the grieving family. 'Our thoughts are with them as they navigate this incredibly difficult time,' Guadagnino said. He added that officials respectfully ask for privacy as Dominick's family begins to process this tremendous loss.

Julianna Zyra had taken to local media just days before the discovery of his body. Speaking through an interview with WTEN, she told her husband directly: 'Whatever it is that's going on, there are so many people who care about you and want you to be OK.' She noted that he must feel alone but insisted that help was available. If anyone was watching, she begged them simply to come home.

She also spoke out against online speculation, stating that the internet often hypothesizes events while the reality is far more painful. 'It's not fair,' Zyra said. 'I really wish people would stay off the internet... he's very sick, and he is not in the right headspace.'
Dominick Bianchi with his mother in 2014. He is understood to have been struggling mentally before his disappearance. His father-in-law, Joseph Zyra, released a statement Sunday after learning of the death. Joseph noted that they had welcomed Dominick into their lives just four months ago and are now facing intense pain over his loss.

Joseph described him as much more than a new son-in-law; he was a husband, a brother, and a friend who will be missed by many. 'Although we were new to this community, we were treated as though we were lifelong residents,' Joseph wrote. He thanked neighbors for notes left at the door, food, coffee, and words of encouragement. The family also expressed gratitude for permission to post flyers in local businesses.
Joseph offered heartfelt gratitude to the young boys who patrolled the trail nightly on their bikes. Their dedication provided a visible shield of care during those dark hours. He emphasized that kindness reverberates through our community like ripples in water. Anything hateful or insensitive directed at Dom's family and friends who are deeply grieving this loss is not how he would have wanted his memory to be preserved. Joseph also thanked the lead detectives on Bianchi's case for their relentless pursuit of justice. All other law enforcement officers who aided them received his sincere appreciation as well. He extended these thanks to anyone else who struggled with mental health issues too. Help is available when you need it most, and you are never alone in your pain. Joseph said there is always a reason to go on even when the road feels steep. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us of those reasons to keep moving forward.
