New ransom note emerges in Nancy Guthrie disappearance investigation
Nancy Guthrie remains missing. The mother of Savannah Guthrie vanished from her Tucson home in the early hours of February 1 and has not been seen since. Investigators are still digging. Alleged kidnappers demanded four million dollars in Bitcoin initially, then claimed she perished after being abducted. Newly surfaced ransom notes offer fresh clues to the ongoing case.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday that its task force working with the FBI is aware of a possible new ransom note related to Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. PCSD wrote on X that the Guthrie Task Force was recently made aware of this development. Investigators are also looking at social media comments regarding the note to determine credibility.

A law enforcement source close to the case tells Fox News there are no new notes being treated as credible right now. Authorities have struggled to identify a suspect or person of interest despite a masked man appearing on Guthrie's Ring doorbell camera. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed she was taken, not leaving on her own during news briefings in the days following the disappearance.

The first ransom note arrived on February 2. It reported Nancy was unharmed and demanded four million dollars in cryptocurrency for her release. A second note came four days later on February 6 claiming she died shortly after kidnapping. Authorities released both documents in late July. Officials noted the unique writing style and asked anyone recognizing patterns to share information with PCSD and the FBI immediately.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen just before 10 p.m. local time on January 31. A relative dropped her off at her home in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood of Tucson that evening. The Pima County Sheriff's Department released two ransom notes back in July to help identify suspects.
