NASA Contractor Alleges Agency Erased UFO Evidence From Satellite Photos
A former NASA contractor with top-secret clearance has alleged that the U.S. space agency systematically erased visual evidence of unidentified flying objects from satellite imagery prior to public distribution. Donna Hare, who created graphics for the agency, stated that technicians were instructed to airbrush images depicting potential extraterrestrial encounters from official photos.
Hare, who passed away in 2021, described an incident occurring around 1970 or 1971 at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. According to her account, a technician in the restricted photo lab showed her a photograph featuring a round, white object hovering above pine trees. When Hare questioned the nature of the object, the technician refused to identify it, later explaining to her that such evidence was routinely removed before the images could be sold to the public.

These assertions have gained renewed attention following recent scrutiny of NASA's photographic quality regarding interstellar object 3i/ATLAS. While both the agency and the government maintain that there is no proof of alien life or UFO visits to Earth, Hare's claims suggest a long-standing policy of concealing such data.
Hare first disclosed this information in May 2001 during a Disclosure Project press conference in Washington, D.C. Over the subsequent decades, she provided numerous interviews, yet the original photograph, the identity of the technician, and any official documentation regarding the alleged airbrushing protocol have never been made public.

Beyond the suppression of photographic evidence, Hare alleged that returning Apollo astronauts were subjected to strict confidentiality measures. She reported that a worker involved in the medical quarantine and debriefing process told her that nearly every astronaut claimed to have seen alien craft on the moon. She recalled the technician stating that several craft were present during the lunar landings.

Hare further claimed that astronauts were ordered to remain silent for national security reasons and were required to sign documents waiving their right to speak, under penalty of imprisonment. Despite these restrictions, several Apollo astronauts have since publicly stated they witnessed extraterrestrial activity. Notably, NASA pilot Edgar Mitchell, the sixth person to walk on the lunar surface in 1971, has also come forward with similar testimonies regarding their experiences in space.
A NASA astronaut recently claimed he witnessed extraterrestrial craft flying in the sky. Last year, Edgar Mitchell's wife spoke exclusively to the Daily Mail about secrets her husband shared before passing. Mitchell was the sixth human to walk on the moon in 1971. He reportedly told his former wife, Anita, that many pilots and astronauts had seen something unusual. 'I remember Gordy telling us at a dinner party that he had seen something,' Mrs. Mitchell recalled. Gordy was Project Mercury astronaut Leroy Gordon Cooper Jr. He told them, 'Listen, we have nothing that goes that fast and goes that high.' Mitchell, a former US Navy Captain, publicly stated he believed UFOs were real. He insisted extraterrestrials had visited Earth and that governments worldwide were lying about what they knew. A documentary called The Age of Disclosure, released in November, allegedly detailed an 80-year global cover-up. It claims this secrecy hid alien life and technology humans created using pieces of UFOs. Filmmaker Dan Farah spent four years secretly interviewing high-level US government and military members. They discussed the existence of extraterrestrials with him. His film debuted just before the White House ordered the Pentagon to begin disclosing all classified files. This directive concerned UFO encounters and the search for extraterrestrial beings. As of July 2026, three tranches of files have been released by the Pentagon. These releases include hundreds of pages of documents and audio recordings from NASA and the Apollo missions. No files have confirmed the accounts of Hare yet. No images have been released suggesting the space agency doctored satellite photos to remove alien craft. However, the files did contain several images from the moon landings in the 1960s and 1970s. These images featured strange and unexplainable lights and shapes in space. The public now faces a complex reality where access to truth remains tightly controlled. Regulations and government directives continue to shape what citizens can know about the cosmos. The potential impact on communities is significant if these secrets are finally revealed. We must balance formal reports with informal stories to understand the full picture. Short, punchy facts mix with longer narratives to reflect the gravity of the situation. Simple language helps direct attention to the risks these hidden truths pose.
