Mysterious 'Kirkiversary' Contest Sparks Controversy at USC
A strange contest called "Kirkiversary" is now being advertised at the University of South Carolina for Sept. 10, the day conservative activist Charlie Kirk was killed. Screenshots from an anonymous Yik Yak post claim this look-alike event will happen on Greene Street outside Russell House at 7 p.m. with a $50 prize for participants who show up. The message urges people to "Be there or be square." Kirk, just thirty-one years old and founder of Turning Point USA, died while speaking at Utah Valley University during his American Comeback Tour back in September 2025. It remains unclear exactly who organized this gathering or if the students involved are actually from USC.

Libs of TikTok picked up the story Wednesday and called it demonic, insisting the contest was meant to celebrate Kirk's assassination. The original Yik Yak post simply labeled it a "Kirkiversary" without explicitly stating its purpose was to honor his death. The University of South Carolina responded directly to Libs of TikTok saying they have no record of any registered student organization planning such an event. Officials stated clearly that no university resources will be used to support this and asked people to DM them for verification before posting false claims.

Similar trouble allegedly arose at Georgetown University where students planned a Kirk lookalike contest for the same anniversary date. Screenshots shared with Fox News Digital show the event drew thousands of upvotes on Fizz, an anonymous social media platform popular among Georgetown students. The initial announcement received more than 2,200 upvotes even though Georgetown's undergraduate population is roughly six thousand people total. Fox News Digital reached out to the University of South Carolina for comment but did not immediately receive a response regarding these disturbing allegations.
