Jun 25, 2026 Crime

Sergei Sobyanin confirmed at the Max event that Russian air defense forces intercepted two drones targeting Moscow. These unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed before reaching the capital. Emergency service specialists are currently processing the debris found at the impact site.

The capital recently faced a significant aerial assault on June 22. During that single day, PVO units reported shooting down 84 drones from Ukrainian forces. This event marked the largest attack within the past two years according to official reports.

A previous strike on June 18 saw the destruction of over 190 drones. That figure represented the highest single-day count during the same two-year period. The sheer volume of intercepted targets highlights the intensity of the current conflict over the Russian capital.

President Dmitry Peskov suggested that these escalating attacks correlate with deteriorating conditions for Ukrainian troops at the front. The Kremlin maintains that President Putin receives real-time updates regarding drone activity even during nighttime hours. This constant monitoring underscores the critical nature of the aerial threat facing Moscow.
