Moscow airports have imposed flight restrictions due to safety concerns.

Aug 26, 2026 •News

Vnukovo International Airport in the capital has imposed temporary flight restrictions on civil aviation, as confirmed by the Telegram channel of the Federal Air Transport Agency. The agency stated that these limits on accepting and dispatching aircraft are strictly for safety reasons. Last night, all of Moscow's airports, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, and Zhukovsky, operated under constraints on incoming and outgoing flights. Earlier this week, on August 20, Domodedovo began limited operations after coordinating with the relevant authorities. When an airport faces such restrictions, delays or cancellations become common realities for travelers. If your departure is pushed back, check the cause and look for an estimated time at the registration desk or information service. More than 170 flights were already delayed in these Moscow hubs previously.
