Molly Sims Exposes Hollywood's Fake Beauty Secrets
Molly Sims is finally calling out Hollywood for its stream of fake beauty advice. In a recent chat with US Magazine, the 53-year-old model took a hard line against those in the industry who lie about how they keep looking camera-ready.

"Early on, other models would help you," she explained during the interview. "Like, 'I'm getting shots in my a--,' or 'I'm only going to drink grapefruit juice.'" She noted that Hollywood figures often claimed, "I just drink a lot of water, and I slept eight hours." Her response was blunt: "No, you f---ing didn't."
The conversation turned candid when Sims recounted dining out with friends recently. "We're like, 'She looks amazing. She did the upper lip, the lower. She did the CO2,'" she said of her dinner companions. It feels refreshing for a woman in Kentucky or Ohio to know that glowing skin isn't just about hydration and rest. Sometimes you too can be on the peptide route.

Sims also discussed how her mindset regarding appearance has shifted from her early modeling days to now, as a woman in her 50s. She recalled entering the business "during a difficult era called 'heroin chic,'" where the standard was being "about 20 pounds underweight and very goth." The level of scrutiny she faced back then was devastating.

"I went from Vanderbilt with my sorority sisters, where you're dipping your fries in a Wendy's Frosty and you think nothing of it," she said. She came from a completely different world, and the industry had changed by the time she arrived. The beautiful, normal body weight she grew up with was not in style then, which gave her pause and brought many tears.
Nowadays, when Sims hits the gym, her goal is clear: not to look younger, but "to look the best I can at every age." She stated simply, "I don't want to be skinny; I want to be healthy."

Sims left Vanderbilt University in the early 1990s to chase a modeling career. She broke into mainstream recognition when she posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2000. She returned to the magazine in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2020 and 2024. Her most recent appearance came in 2026, where she posed in a number of two-piece sets, including orange, pink and red string bikinis.

"If only I could tell the 20-something version of me shooting her first @si_swimsuit issue that she'd still be here at 52… feeling more beautiful and confident in her skin than ever before 🥹Thank you @mj_day and my entire SI family!!! ❤️" she shared on Instagram alongside photos from the shoot.
In February 2023, Sims took to her Instagram stories to explain how she keeps her body bikini ready. She noted that her secret is bone broth and showed a picture of a mug filled with it. She wrote, "Anti-ageing [sic], good for digestion and gut, helps my joints after workouts, better sleep... this has been game changing for me."

The reality behind the glamour hits hard when you realize so many secrets are just lies told to sell a dream. Communities need honest conversations about aging because fake advice can make people feel isolated or inadequate. Government regulations do not currently cover beauty standards, leaving individuals to fend off misinformation on their own. People should look at what they eat and hear without fear of judgment. The truth is that health matters more than fitting into a narrow ideal. We must stop pretending that water and sleep are magic cures for everyone.
