Missing Florida Scuba Diver LeeAnn Fay Sellers Found Deceased
A search for a missing female scuba diver off the Florida coast ended in tragedy on Sunday morning after emergency responders recovered the body of a woman who had vanished during a solo dive two days prior.
Authorities have identified the deceased as 41-year-old LeeAnn Fay Sellers. Her body was discovered floating in the waters near Treasure Island Beach following an extensive manhunt involving multiple emergency agencies that failed to locate her while she was missing.

According to city officials, Sellers departed alone for a scuba dive off Treasure Island Beach on Friday, July 3, but never returned to shore. Her husband reported her missing that evening, which prompted the Treasure Island Fire Rescue and other local agencies to launch a large-scale operation covering both the shoreline and the surrounding waters.
Despite hours of searching, crews found no trace of the diver. The situation turned devastating early Sunday morning when a fisherman on Treasure Island Beach contacted authorities at approximately 6:45 a.m. He reported spotting what appeared to be a body floating roughly 200 feet offshore.
Treasure Island police officers and fire rescue personnel responded immediately to the scene and recovered the body from the water. Officials later confirmed the identity of the deceased as Sellers, noting that she was still wearing her scuba diving equipment when she was brought ashore.

The recovery marked a tragic conclusion to the search that began after Sellers failed to return from her solo outing on Friday. To date, officials have not released any additional details regarding the specific circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
The investigation remains ongoing. The Pinellas County Medical Examiner is scheduled to determine the official cause and manner of death. Authorities have not yet announced whether foul play is suspected.
