Megyn Kelly Demands Ariana Grande Parents' Intervention Amid Health Fears

Aug 26, 2026 •Entertainment

Megyn Kelly issued an angry demand to locate Ariana Grande's parents while claiming the singer's team is pushing her toward a fate similar to Britney Spears. The confrontation happened on Thursday's episode of The Megyn Kelly Show after fans reacted with shock to Grande's new music video, Petal, where she appeared extremely thin.

Kelly told journalist Maureen Callahan that the star looks disturbingly thin and expressed fury because her team seems indifferent. She asked a painful question about the missing parents who should step in. "Where are her parents? Where are they to say, Honey, we love you. You have enough money. Your team around has made enough money. You need to take a step away," Kelly stated.

The podcaster slammed the thirty-three-year-old singer's management group for caring more about profits than safety. In her view, they ignore the need to check Grande into a facility where she belongs. Instead of care, Kelly argued her team releases content that feeds late-night comedians like Bill Maher who do not respect women. "The weird twerking it it works I guess if you're 20 and you're young and fit and super youthful, it doesn't work for Britney," Kelly noted regarding the risky behavior she sees in Grande's future path.

Maureen Callahan offered a different perspective on who bears responsibility. She believes mainstream entertainment media whistles right past this serious issue instead of addressing it directly. Callahan suggested that much of the blame falls on outlets debating whether to discuss women's bodies rather than focusing on the danger at hand. "It's not about body shaming," she insisted, calling that meta debate a distraction from the real crisis.

Kelly pointed out that Grande has more money than she could spend in twenty lifetimes yet lacks a spouse or protective family nearby. She demanded to know where the manager is and who should tell Ariana she needs hospital care immediately. The new Petal video arrived on July 31, showing a chest cavity that Kelly described as all bone. "That right there is someone who needs help," the journalist said with urgency.

Callahan warned that Grande will wind up like Britney Spears if this trend continues and may not live much longer. She drew a parallel to Karen Carpenter, another singer who died young after battling anorexia. Despite the controversy surrounding Wicked press tours and the movie-musical filming, these health concerns remain largely ignored by the industry. The situation feels dire as fans and experts watch closely for any sign of recovery or intervention.

I just don't think she will live that much longer." That is the stark reality voiced by podcaster Callahan regarding Ariana Grande's health. She believes the singer is following a tragic path similar to Karen Carpenter, where an eating disorder destroys internal organs until the heart simply gives out. Carpenter was an iconic vocalist in The Carpenters who died at 32 from complications of anorexia after hospitalization in 1982 when she weighed only 77lbs. She passed away just months later in 1983 following cardiac arrest.

Callahan went further to blame the music industry, stating, "I know Ariana Grande. Her mother is in the picture. Her brother Frankie Grande is in the picture. But I mean, these people will all have blood on their hands if something happens to her." As someone who suffered from an eating disorder herself, Callahan insists there is no debate about Grande being a very sick young woman needing immediate help.

The controversy has exploded alongside Grande's recent work filming and promoting the movie-musical Wicked. Her appearance became a major talking point during the press tour. In December, Kelly criticized Grande for her "anorexic" look while also noting that co-star Cynthia Erivo appeared increasingly thin. At the time, Callahan described Grande as clearly anorexic, adding, "She is very clearly anorexic. If she's 90 pounds, it's a lot. She looks like you could snap her in two with your fingers."

Grande has pushed back against this scrutiny repeatedly. Recently, she announced she will step back from the spotlight after her Eternal Sunshine tour concludes because of the intense pressure. The singer told a reporter that society has a wrong kind of comfortability when commenting on others' looks or health behind the scenes. "It's not invited, so I don't leave space for it anymore," she said.

Addressing her own image directly, Grande released a TikTok video explaining her shift in focus toward healthier living. She claimed the body people used to compare her current frame against was actually the unhealthiest version of herself. "I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point in my life when I looked the way you consider my 'healthy,'" she explained. "But in fact, that wasn't my 'healthy.' Healthy can look different." The Daily Mail has reached out to Grande's team for comment as this story continues to unfold.
