Massive elk battle erupts near Colorado lake

OutKick has found itself on a hot streak lately when it comes to nature and wildlife content for OutKick Outdoors. Nothing gets old as fast as animal behavior, whether they are acting naturally or humans act like idiots around them. The results are always gold. That trend just got even wilder with new footage of massive elk getting into a fight.

Good Bull Outdoors posted this video on Instagram earlier this week. It shows two huge elk locking antlers in a scrappy battle near Colorado. "Our moose steak dinner was interrupted by bugling elk tonight so what do a couple of elk obsessed wildlife photographers do? We pack up the pup and roll out to get some video," the caption reads in part.

Things quickly spiraled out of control. The description continues, noting that crazy does not even begin to describe the evening. A massive six-by-seven bull was bugling while swimming across a lake. Then there was a fifteen-minute long fight followed by a second skirmish where they could hear it but never see it clearly. One bull walked down the road repeatedly trying to reach cows inside fairgrounds.

The tension broke with a gunshot from the road. Investigators later found out a policeman shot a wounded elk calf that had been hit by a car. Another bull jumped toward their truck and nearly slammed into it as he ran past. What a night! Check out the wild video below and let me know your thoughts at [email protected].

Comments from viewers poured in with plenty of reactions to share. One person wrote, "All pumped up, showing their strength!" Another added, "Dude, that's crazy. Cool!" A third commented, "Great work! Very cool." It is clear people simply cannot get enough of seeing two massive elk smash antlers together. There is no question this counts as awesome wildlife footage.
