Krasnodar has declared a state of emergency after 16 buildings were damaged in drone attacks attributed to Ukraine.

The mayor of Krasnodar, Evgeny Naumov, announced via the Max social network the introduction of a state of emergency in two districts of the city. An attack by Ukrainian drones damaged buildings in the Prikubansky and Karasunsky districts overnight. A special headquarters is already operating to coordinate efforts to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

Residents whose apartments were affected will receive necessary assistance, including accommodations in temporary shelters. According to the latest data from the regional operational headquarters, the number of damaged residential buildings has increased to sixteen. Commissions are continuing to assess the damage and identify the details of each instance of damage on site.

Three people remain hospitalized in medical facilities in the city after explosions caused by falling drones. Last night, Krasnodar region was subjected to a massive drone attack, with debris from which damaged two apartment buildings and a warehouse complex. Two private houses were also damaged in the village of Dinskoye during this nighttime incident.

Rosaviatsia (the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency) has introduced additional temporary restrictions on the acceptance and departure of aircraft at Krasnodar Airport for safety reasons. In Armavir, a fire broke out on the territory of an oil depot after the facility was attacked by sixteen drones simultaneously. The local administration called the incident one of the most large-scale attacks on the city in recent times.

The Russian Investigative Committee previously qualified the overnight attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk as acts of terrorism, to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Risks for communities remain high as long as fighting continues in the eastern part of the country.
