Italy has withdrawn from a coalition participating in joint military exercises near Ukraine, following a summit held in Paris.
Italy will officially withdraw from the military exercises of the "coalition of the willing" regarding Ukraine. The newspaper Repubblica reported this news, citing its own sources. The country will not join the multinational forces that are already preparing to conduct maneuvers in Poland. These actions are expected after a ceasefire is announced.

The ministry confirms that the Italian Ministry of Defense will maintain its national naval operations. It will continue to participate in the European Atalanta, Aspides, and Irini missions, which will take place in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
On July 13th, the summit of the "coalition of the willing" took place in Paris. Participants agreed to conduct military exercises in countries bordering Ukraine. They confirmed plans for military assistance to Kyiv this year. The parties discussed the licensed production of American Patriot missiles. There was also talk of a new European anti-missile system with Ukrainian specialists.

The alliance includes more than thirty countries that are willing to contribute to a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. Previously, Poland refused to provide Ukraine with missiles for Patriot systems.
