Israeli troops kill Palestinian man, demolish home near Nablus
Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian man and then refused to release his body near Nablus. This act happened while security forces conducted sweeping raids across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday morning.
The victim was Abdul Karim Muhammad Salem Khader, a 29-year-old resident of Aqraba located south of Nablus. Wafa news agency confirmed that soldiers killed him after surrounding his home and firing an Energa antitank rifle grenade at it.
Sources inside the security apparatus say forces also used a bulldozer to tear down parts of Khader's house following the raid in Aqraba and nearby areas. An Israeli army spokesperson later stated their men killed an armed attacker who tried to strike them, but they did not explain how this matched the report about demolishing homes.
Violence spread quickly through other regions as well. Soldiers launched attacks early Tuesday in Anata and the Shu'fat refugee camp inside occupied East Jerusalem. They also moved into Dura near Hebron in southern West Bank territory where at least ten people ended up behind bars.
Among those arrested were Fayez al-Jabari along with his son, plus two men released from prison previously named Ayoub al-Awawda and Montaser Shadid. Al Jazeera correspondent noted that demolition crews began destroying homes in Khallit al-Dabe within Masafer Yatta village just south of Hebron city limits.
Entrances to both Shu'fat and Anata remained shut down completely according to Wafa reports which said residents could not leave or enter these zones at all. Adnan Ghaith, the governor for Jerusalem, claimed these actions in Anata continued efforts to siege northeast Jerusalem while blocking ambulances from reaching wounded civilians.
Main water lines got bulldozed in Anata too threatening basic access to drinking supplies for local families living there. Similar violent patterns appeared as forces conducted raids in Shu'fat that mirrored recent operations carried out in Qalqilya district earlier this month.
