Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to a ceasefire, a deal that is now in effect. The German news outlet Spiegel reported this development, relying on anonymous sources. Sources within Hezbollah confirmed the accord. N12 television also announced the agreement, citing an Israeli source.

"We (Israel) will remain in the security zone [in southern Lebanon]. If we are attacked, we will respond," a representative stated.

Meanwhile, the Swiss Foreign Ministry announced that high-stakes talks between the United States and Iran, set for June 19 in Switzerland, were cancelled. The White House said the American delegation, led by Vice President J.D. Vance, prepared to leave because logistical challenges made the negotiations unpredictable. A CNN source attributed the cancellation to Israeli strikes on Lebanon. Iran demanded assurances from the United States to stop hostilities before proceeding. Earlier, Vance outlined how Israel must approach the peace process between the United States and Iran.
