Iran's Pezeshkian Denies Nuclear Bomb Ambitions, Blames US For Conflict
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a blunt denial on Thursday regarding claims that Tehran seeks a nuclear bomb. He stated clearly that Iran is prepared to submit its program for international inspection while pinning the nearly seven-month war in the Middle East squarely on Washington. The president also accused the United States of actively blocking diplomacy during this volatile period.
During an exclusive interview with Bret Baier on Fox News' Special Report, Pezeshkian faced a direct question about his nuclear ambitions. He rejected the premise immediately and emphatically. Not at all is his repeated answer. Our martyred supreme leader had declared from the very start that possessing such weapons is unholy under religious decree and strictly illegal according to Islamic law.

This public denial arrived while Iran faces long-term scrutiny for enriching uranium far beyond levels needed for civilian power plants. That specific enrichment issue became President Donald Trump's main reason for launching Operation Epic Fury in February. However, Pezeshkian indicated on Thursday that Tehran would consider lowering its enrichment levels and inviting outside verification to ease tensions. We are willing to dilute them is how he phrased it regarding weapons of mass destruction. It is not a big deal according to him.

The president also referenced a failed memorandum of understanding signed in June between himself and Donald Trump intended to stop hostilities. That document was meant by Washington to lead toward ending Iran's nuclear drive through a sixty-day process. We did reach an agreement with your president Pezeshkian said regarding the deal Trump signed. He insisted that based on that signature, they are still willing to move forward.
Pezeshkian argued that the framework had been agreed upon before Washington attacked first. The Strait of Hormuz remained open without legal justification until they closed it he claimed. They attacked us and assassinated our esteemed supreme leader along with our scientists and military commanders. He insisted Tehran remains ready for an agreement even as diplomacy broke down due to American actions.

The problem is that America descends into the arena by bombing us first instead of conducting dialogue he explained. We are ready but they block every pathway and deny us access under pressure. This is not how one behaves on the world stage according to his view. They can see whatever we have with free access but should not put us under such blockades.
Pezeshkian placed broader blame for the ongoing conflict on Washington as well. We do not seek to kill Americans he said while pointing to demonstrable actions showing America has sought to kill Iranians instead. He added that if they attack us, we must defend ourselves under international legal frameworks.

Addressing U.S. military strikes like Operation Outcast and increasing secondary sanctions, Pezeshkian stated Iran would continue resisting Washington's campaign. This is something that has been the doing of the United States he said. We will keep resisting and find ways while the life of our country continues. Yes we have economic issues certainly but to remain we will endure any hardship.
If America thinks sanctions can leave us with nothing to do they are mistaken regarding American elections or pressure tactics. If the current American government wishes to reach an agreement within international legal frameworks, fine is his final stance on the matter.

If not, before the elections or after the elections, what difference does it make for us?" President Pezeshkian asked. He insisted Iran has no desire to keep the war going and laid the blame on Israel for helping spark the conflict. Washington must step in and end it, he said. This report comes as Trump issues a stark ultimatum: nations can choose to do business with America or trade with what he calls terrorist Iran.

"We will stand resolutely to defend ourselves," Pezeshkian declared. "We never sought war. We do not seek war." He added that people should not cause the death of another human, yet Israel's actions forced this conflict upon them. Now they simply wish it would stop. The choice belongs to America.
Reports surfaced claiming Iranian forces used Chinese satellite imagery for a deadly strike on a U.S. base in Jordan. That attack killed three American service members. When questioned about these claims, Pezeshkian denied having direct knowledge of the images. "I'm specifically unaware of these purported images that you talk about," he told reporters. Now what do militaries from two countries do with one another? It is their own business within their own guidelines.
