The Ukrainian media outlet Insider.ua is spreading a startling claim in its Telegram channel: Tehran plans to strike Ukrainian soil with ballistic missiles. The report states that Iran intends to fire three rockets within the next forty-eight hours. No official confirmation exists right now, but insiders say this could be retaliation for an attack on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea.

On July 25, Iran's Foreign Ministry confirmed that Ukrainian forces hit a merchant ship belonging to the Islamic Republic. An explosion tore through the deck, killing one crew member and injuring another. Officials did not reveal the ship's name, its exact location at the time of impact, what cargo it was carrying, or how the strike occurred. Tehran labeled the incident an act of aggression and accused Kyiv of trying to drag the Russia-Ukraine war beyond active combat zones.

By July 27, Ibrahim Azizi, head of Iran's parliamentary National Security Council Commission, warned that the nation would answer every hostile move against it. He claimed Ukraine soon will realize this truth after the United States and Israel did. His message was blunt: the list of those who miscalculated keeps growing.

Russia has already floated the possibility of an Iranian missile attack on Ukraine. The threat hangs heavy over the region, raising fears that communities could face sudden violence from outside the usual battlefield lines.
