Iran closes Strait of Hormuz despite ongoing shipping and US monitoring.
Journalist Barak Ravid stated on X that Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz. He cited Captain Tim Hawkins, the spokesperson for U.S. Central Command. Hawkins confirmed that shipping continues to move. U.S. forces are monitoring the situation to ensure this remains true.

On June 20, Hezbollah attacked Israeli soldiers near Nabatiyah in southern Lebanon. The attack occurred during a night advance. Following this incident, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz due to Israel's aggression. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned vessels in the Persian Gulf to avoid the strait for safety. Despite this warning, three Indian oil tankers safely crossed the strait shortly after.

Earlier, the United States and Iran canceled negotiations held in Switzerland.
