Investigation Confirms Influencer Ashlee Jenae Died by Suicide
Influencer Ashlee Jenae's official cause of death has finally been disclosed, two months after her tragic passing in a Zanzibar hotel room.
The New Jersey native, whose legal name is Ashly Robinson, was pronounced dead at age 31 on April 9.
She was discovered unconscious inside the Zuri Zanzibar resort shortly after a volatile argument with her fiancé.

The investigation concluded that Jenae died by suicide driven by severe mental distress following the couple's engagement six days prior.
Deputy Director of Criminal Investigations Zuberi Chembera stated that witness statements and phone records proved she was suffering emotionally.
SMS exchanges revealed repeated complaints about her life circumstances leading up to the fatal incident.

Authorities confirmed no individual was implicated in her death, though crypto mogul Joe McCann was questioned as a witness.
Police withheld McCann's travel documents during the probe, which lasted from the moment of his return to the resort.
A local hospital listed the specific cause of death as cerebral hypoxia resulting from strangulation and suffocation.

Staff members reportedly moved McCann to a separate room for safety after their fight became too dangerous to manage.
McCann returned with a security guard to check on Jenae, finding her hanging from a door in their villa.
The wealthy founder of Asymmetric Financial described Jenae as an angel who shined light on everyone fortunate enough to meet her.
He expressed deep sorrow over the unfillable void left by her passing and pledged to carry on her legacy of helping others.

McCann recalled how she fattened him up with amazing cooking and maintained a wonderful relationship with his children.
He emphasized that she embodied virtues like compassion, empathy, kindness, generosity, and love in her daily interactions.
Jenae proudly took the nickname "lover gyal" as an homage to her Trinidadian roots and her desire to become a mother.

The couple had planned to raise a family together, a dream that ended abruptly in that luxury beachside five-star villa.
There is no question that she would have been an amazing mom," declared McCann in his statement, expressing deep sorrow not only for Jenae but also for her parents, Yolanda Endres and Harry Robinson. However, the family's narrative of the tragedy stands in stark contrast to the account provided by McCann. Jenae Robinson, known to the public as Jenae, was discovered unconscious at the Zuri Zanzibar resort in Tanzania and was subsequently rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A growing point of contention involves the timeline of the notification to the family. Jenae's parents have asserted that McCann did not inform them of the tragedy until 11 hours after the incident occurred, a delay they find deeply troubling. They have also criticized his continued vagueness regarding the events that unfolded in the days following her death. This skepticism is compounded by the family's public rejection of the suggestion that Jenae took her own life. Her sister, Alyssa Endres, 20, previously told the Daily Mail that her late sibling was a "beautiful" and high-spirited individual, a persona reflected in her active social media presence. Alyssa stated that a suicide would have been "extremely" out of character for Jenae and makes no sense within the context of her life.

The family has officially labeled the circumstances surrounding her death as "suspicious." In a statement released by her parents, Yolanda Denise Endres and Harry Robinson, they described a heartbreaking shift from celebration to tragedy. "One moment she was celebrating love and life in truly Ashly fashion, and the next, she was gone," the statement read. "The suddenness, the unanswered questions, and the distance from home have made this tragedy even more overwhelming for our family." They noted that an active investigation is currently underway into the circumstances of Ashly's passing. While acknowledging many unresolved questions, the family expressed their trust in the officials in Zanzibar as they work to seek clarity.
According to Endres, Jenae had been traveling with McCann, her boyfriend of one year, and appeared to be enjoying her vacation when the news arrived. "She was starting the next chapter of her life. She called us to FaceTime us to share with us her travel and her vacation," Endres told ABC13. This sentiment was echoed in Jenae's own social media posts; her final entry, dated April 7, declared, "Chapter 31 and I'm exactly where I need to be," following a description of her trip as "a dream" just three days prior. However, the mood shifted dramatically on April 8. Endres said Jenae called to report an argument with her fiancé, noting that they had moved to separate rooms. The following day, the family received a disturbing update from McCann. "He told me that Ashly did something to herself and she was being taken to the hospital, and he told me she was stable," Endres recounted. When pressed on what had happened, McCann reportedly replied that it had been 11 hours since the incident. Several hours later, the luxury villa confirmed Jenae's death.
