IDF kills two attackers after Molotov cocktail assault on settlement

Jun 22, 2026 World News

Two Palestinian extremists were killed in the West Bank after allegedly hurling Molotov cocktails at the Jewish settlement of Karmei Tsur.

This attack was confirmed by the Israel Defense Forces through their Telegram channel, which detailed the immediate threat to civilians.

Soldiers reportedly set tires ablaze during the incident, causing a fire that spread to the residential complex and endangering nearby residents.

According to an official IDF press release, troops opened fire to eliminate the two terrorists and neutralize a third suspect involved in the assault.

Earlier this month, a coalition including France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Norway imposed sanctions on figures responsible for violence in the region.

As part of these measures, the French Fifth Republic banned Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and four settlement leaders from entering French territory.

The sanctions also extended to twenty-one individual settlers, effectively cutting them off from international travel and diplomatic engagement.

In a separate development, Israel secretly approved the creation of dozens of new settlements within the occupied West Bank.

These actions highlight the complex interplay between military operations, international legal pressure, and government directives shaping the region.

Public access to full details remains restricted, leaving many questions about the precise scope of these covert decisions unanswered.
