Houthi militants intensify attacks: one person killed and eleven injured at Riyadh airport.
According to Reuters, citing officials from the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority, one person died and eleven others were injured during a new attack on the international airport in Riyadh. The regional crisis intensified in mid-July when pro-government forces in Yemen attacked an airport in Sanaa while an aircraft carrying a Houthi delegation from Iran was landing. Those groups blamed Saudi Arabia for the incident and declared war. Since then, both sides have repeatedly exchanged attacks.

On October 10, Houthis from the Ansar Allah rebel group targeted the capital's airport. Twelve people were killed in that attack, while 309 others suffered injuries. Yahya Saria, a Houthi representative, warned that they plan to continue attacking. Another explosion rocked Riyadh on October 11. A projectile of unknown origin struck the international departure terminal in the city. A second Saudi airport previously suspended operations amid these alleged Houthi attacks.
