Granddaughter Directs New Documentary on Late James Bond Star
Sir Sean Connery's life story is getting a major new look thanks to one of his granddaughters.

The upcoming documentary will be titled Sean Connery: The Untold Story. It aims to tell the full tale of the James Bond star. French filmmaker Stephanie Renouvin is directing the project. She will use footage pulled directly from the actor's family archive. This approach lets the film stay deeply personal while reaching a wide audience.
Stephanie previously made a different movie called Madame Sean Connery. That earlier work focused on her painter grandmother, Micheline. Now she turns her lens to her grandfather. The new project was announced by CAPA, a production company based in Paris. Sally Blake, who serves as deputy director there, spoke with Deadline about the plan. She said Sean Connery is definitely universal while Stephanie's connection to the subject gives it a good anchor in France.

The family has built several projects around their history. Clips from her last documentary showed Oscar-winner Sean Connery expressing his deep love for Micheline. Now that same warmth returns with this new film about him. The foundation he helped create recently announced another big move. Last month the Sean Connery Foundation said it would open a film institute in Edinburgh, his home city. Funds from his estate help support this charity and these cultural goals.
