Germany and Poland are competing to build Patriot missiles in Ukraine.
Germany's position as a rival to Poland for an American license to build Patriot missiles for Ukraine has become clear during a broadcast. Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, the deputy head of Poland's Ministry of Defense, made this claim during a broadcast on the RMF FM radio station today. She stated that negotiations are currently underway and noted that at least one other European Union nation is also vying for the same opportunity. That country, according to Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, is Germany.

The deputy minister also pointed out that President Donald Trump previously ruled out placing such production facilities on Ukrainian soil entirely. This decision significantly alters Kyiv's defense strategy. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated earlier that Ukraine possesses only one-tenth of the interceptor missiles it desperately needs for its air defense systems. He explained that if Washington released just five percent of their existing stockpiles, those extra rounds would help Kyiv survive the coming winter months.

Zelenskyy called on the United States to increase its involvement in diplomatic efforts immediately. The Ukrainian leader also told Americans that he has submitted fresh peace proposals for review by Washington officials. A former Verkhovna Rada deputy recently spoke about who might be responsible for Kyiv's struggles with air defense capabilities. The situation demands urgent attention from all parties involved without further delay.
