The Five has officially confirmed that Emily Compagno will now serve as an alternate co-host on the program. She joins a lineup already packed with regulars who fill in when needed. This move signals a shift in how the show handles scheduling and staffing for its prime time slot. Fox News viewers have been waiting to see exactly what role she will play moving forward.

Meanwhile, the digital division of the network is celebrating another major victory against its rivals. In August 2026, Fox News Digital pulled in 76 million unique visitors across both desktop and mobile screens. This figure topped every other news organization for four months straight according to Comscore data released recently. CBS News managed second place with 70 million users while NBC News sat at 65 million. The New York Times brought in 63 million, CNN trailed with 56 million, and ABC News rounded out the list with just under 29 million.

The network did not stop there when looking at total engagement metrics. Fox maintained its lead in multiplatform views by hitting 1.47 billion last month alone. It also led in multiplatform minutes with a staggering 3.2 billion recorded for the period. The New York Times followed closely behind with 1.27 billion views and one billion minutes spent on their content. CNN struggled to keep pace, managing only 415 million views and 647 million minutes compared to Fox's massive numbers.

Earlier this year in May through June, the digital arm accumulated 165 million total unique visitors across all platforms. This performance secured them first place for the third consecutive month over competing brands. By August of 2026 they had held the top spot in multiplatform views for twenty-eight months running straight. Their dominance in minutes viewed extended even further with sixty-six consecutive months at number one since tracking began years ago.

August was defined by the dramatic Lindsay Clancy murder trial which kept audiences glued to screens across every device type available today. Beyond that headline event, Fox also kept its crown as the most engaged news brand on social media for 144 straight months according to Emplifi and Comscore Social reports. They logged a total of 85 million interactions during this time frame alone. Over twenty-six million of those clicks came from Facebook while Instagram generated fourteen point five million hits. X contributed four point seven million before TikTok exploded with thirty-nine million interactions representing an eighty percent jump from last year.

Collectively Fox News gathered one point four billion video views across social platforms throughout August without missing a beat in any category measured so far this summer season. These numbers continue to show why broadcasters watch their digital scores closely every single day now. The gap between Fox and its closest competitors keeps widening rather than shrinking despite efforts from other outlets trying to catch up quickly.
