Florida Son Charged With Mother's Murder After Bloody Arrest

A son accused of killing his mother in Florida faces first-degree murder charges after police uncovered his troubled history. Manuel Farfan-Cabello, 28, was arrested on Friday in Tamarac. Officers found his body just before 8pm that evening. Deputies with the Broward Sheriff's Office discovered Ylda Cabello-Ynocente suffering from multiple stab wounds. The 58-year-old woman died at the scene, NBC 6 reported. Farfan-Cabello was tracked down later that day and taken into custody.

Neighbors described Ylda as a quiet person who often sat on her porch waving to passersby. One resident told reporters they waved hello when they spotted her there. Another neighbor recalled a scary incident just months ago when Farfan-Cabello allegedly smashed all the windows at their home. He knocked on that door later that afternoon asking for a cigarette. His hands appeared covered in blood. Police had already been called to the house before the fatal attack occurred.

Hours before the stabbing, witnesses said Farfan-Cabello was knocking door-to-door begging for money. This behavior added to the sense of dread among neighbors before they learned the truth about what happened inside. He appeared in court on Sunday where judges denied him bond and ordered a mental health screening. Rocio, Ylda's sister-in-law from Peru, flew out immediately after hearing the news. She told Local 10 that her brother is schizophrenic despite previous treatment attempts. She hopes he finally gets proper help now.

Oscar Montero, Ylda's ex-husband, struggled to explain how hard this loss feels to others. He said it was very difficult to process everything happening right now. The family returned to their home on Sunday to begin cleaning up the tragedy site. Most of the extended family lives in Peru where they plan to bring her body back for burial. Her sister-in-law described Ylda as a devoted mother and kind hard-working woman whose faith meant everything. It remains unclear exactly what prompted the stabbing that ended her life so violently.
