Florida Mother Finds Three Bodies at Custody Exchange Site

Oct 8, 2026 •Crime

A Florida mother walked into a house expecting a custody exchange only to find three bodies waiting for her. Olivia Piccolo, who is 29 years old, arrived at the home in Cocoa late Wednesday afternoon and made a discovery that left everyone speechless. She called 911 around 12:40 pm after seeing the tragic scene inside the residence she was meant to visit with her children.

Police say Joseph Dingwall, the father of the kids, had shot his son and daughter before ending his own life. The seven-year-old boy is named Remy while their five-year-old sister goes by Aria. Both children were found dead in what authorities are calling an apparent murder-suicide. The front door to the home was left slightly open when Piccolo entered, allowing her to spot the victims inside immediately.

The father owned the property where this heartbreaking event took place near Orlando. Dingwall had not answered any calls from Piccolo earlier that day when it was scheduled for her visitation time. His lack of response likely led her to believe something was wrong until she walked through the threshold and saw the reality of the situation. Officials with the Cocoa Police Department are now investigating how these three lives ended so suddenly in such a short window of time.

The community around Cocoa is reeling from this shocking turn of events that unfolded in just a few minutes. Neighbors who knew the family likely never imagined such darkness could fall upon their street on an ordinary afternoon. The loss of two young children and their parent leaves a void that will be impossible to fill for anyone involved. Piccolo remains shaken after finding her kids and husband lifeless inside the home she thought was safe.
