Florida Man Faces Rape Charges After Allegedly Drugging Deckhand On Yacht
A Florida man faces rape charges after allegedly drugging and assaulting a young woman on his luxury yacht in Nantucket Harbor. Christian Bradley Williams, 54, is accused of attacking a 22-year-old deckhand just hours before his wife departed with their two-year-old son for preschool duties back home. Police say the assault occurred on August 9 while the family vessel, called the Chimera, sat docked in the Massachusetts port.
Williams was arraigned Friday and pleaded not guilty to counts of rape, indecent assault, and battery against a person over age 14. His wife reportedly arrived at the island to post his $50,000 cash bail as he awaits trial. The incident involves a summer rental arrangement where the young employee worked on the boat in exchange for free housing starting June 25.

The victim told authorities she boarded the ship later that day and found Williams drinking alone. He invited her to dinner and asked her to put on a dress, telling her he wanted to go somewhere nice. When she arrived at the dock wearing the outfit, he complimented her look but she immediately felt something was wrong. His wife called him during this time, yet he warned the young woman not to let anyone know about their plans to leave the boat together.
Throughout the evening, his behavior grew increasingly strange and aggressive. He used sleazy nicknames like "sugar mommy" and insulted her boyfriend who had already left for the season by saying it was stupid of him not to lock her down. The victim stated she began feeling really nervous as he escalated his comments. At 8pm, she told him she wanted to return to the boat immediately.

He asked her to pay with her own card so his wife would not know about the meal before paying her $500 even though dinner cost roughly half that amount. They each had one drink at the restaurant and she refused his offer for another round afterwards. Once back on the yacht around 8:30pm, she tried to go to bed but he became very persistent about having another drink together. He made a rum cocktail and they went upstairs where the assault allegedly took place.

A terrified victim told her attacker she did not want him near her, yet a police report says she drank a rum beverage, felt dizzy, and lost her vision before losing consciousness. Moments later, she was aware that Williams was on top of her with his full body weight while sexually assaulting her. The document claims the victim pleaded, 'I'm your employee, please get off me,' but he forced her down anyway. Williams then took her to his bed, where she went unconscious the instant her head hit the pillow.
When she woke up, she saw signs of sexual assault on her body and left the vessel immediately. The police report states she called her boss, Max Shapiro, who owns the Nantucket Launch Company, demanding urgent conversation. Once connected, she told him she had awakened 'naked and bleeding' in Williams's bed. She reminded Shapiro that he arranged her lodging on Williams's boat, saying, 'You set me up with this housing.' According to the report, Shapiro allegedly replied, 'Why are you telling me this? Get to work, are you clocked in?' He later told her to 'clock out and go home,' but she had already decided to quit the Nantucket Launch Company because of what happened.

Shapiro has denied the victim's version of events. In a statement to the New York Post, he insisted, 'The recap of the conversation on the dock is not at all accurate.' He added that an active police investigation was underway and that his team supported it fully. Out of respect for the alleged victim and concern for the probe, he refused to comment further. The Daily Mail has reached out to Nantucket Police for more details.
The 22-year-old employee worked on board the Chimera as a deckhand in exchange for housing that month. She started there within the same timeframe mentioned in the report. In the immediate aftermath of the alleged assault, she left the dock crying and called her father. 'Something bad just happened on the boat,' she told him. 'I was assaulted. I need you to pick me up,' the report states. She walked to Nantucket Cottage Hospital for a sexual assault examination that finished around 10am. The exam results came back on September 1, showing one positive test for male DNA. Williams appeared in the Nantucket district courtroom on Friday for his arraignment and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
