Fitness Influencer Pleads Guilty to Breaking Victim's Face in Florida Gym Fight
A fitness influencer with extensive face tattoos has pleaded guilty to breaking another man's face during a gym fight in Florida. Wesley Watson, 42, admitted to aggravated battery in a Miami-Dade County courtroom. The incident left victim Hakeem Ibrahim with a fractured face and a concussion. Watson faces a nine-year prison sentence from a prior robbery conviction in California. The violent altercation occurred on December 29, 2024, at Elev8tion Fitness in North Miami. Watson was working out when Ibrahim approached him. Ibrahim traveled from New Jersey to confront the influencer directly. Police reports indicate Ibrahim pushed Watson first. Watson then removed his weight belt and struck Ibrahim repeatedly. An employee intervened to stop the physical assault. Prosecutors seek 21 months in prison followed by seven years of probation. Watson's legal team negotiates to reduce the prison term. Attorney Eric Clayman cited a psychologist's testimony regarding Watson's steroid abuse. The expert also noted Watson's untreated mental health issues. As part of the plea deal, Watson must record a video on substance abuse and mental health. He intends to use his platform to help others. His YouTube channel recently posted only still images and voice messages. Watson remains at the Metrowest Detention Center in Miami. Sentencing is scheduled for July 17. Ibrahim did not immediately report the specific details of his role to police. He stated he sought Watson to understand his fighting habits. Watson allegedly hit and kicked Ibrahim multiple times. Clayman argued Ibrahim targeted Watson due to his online presence. The situation escalated quickly into violence. Clayman suggested fighters often lose control during a brawl. Adrenaline can cause unexpected actions. The legal challenge involved determining when force must stop. Watson awaits his final sentence while in custody. Authorities have not released all details of the investigation yet.
