Errol Musk Claims Jeffrey Epstein Is Alive on Russian TV
Elon Musk's father, Errol Musk, has publicly asserted that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein remains alive, dismissing the official account of his death in jail as "absurd." The 79-year-old made these comments during a primetime interview on Russian state television, a network controlled by President Vladimir Putin. Epstein was discovered deceased in his prison cell on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking. While New York City's chief medical examiner officially ruled the death a suicide, the incident has fueled enduring conspiracy theories.
During the broadcast, Errol Musk insisted that believing Epstein is dead is "ridiculous." He suggested that prison guards swapped the inmate out the night before the scheduled suicide attempt and that cameras were turned off at the wrong time because guards fell asleep. His claims were met with groans from the studio audience, yet he maintained that Epstein is "alive and well." Errol, who is currently in Russia on a two-week visit focused on research projects with Russian scientists, has previously expressed admiration for Vladimir Putin, stating last year that his family is "a little bit in awe of Mr. Putin."
The interview took place as Errol Musk was seen attending a Russian Orthodox Easter midnight service at the Christ the Saviour Cathedral near the Kremlin, an event attended by President Putin. The Russian leader's appearance at the cathedral occurred shortly after he declared a 32-hour ceasefire for the Easter weekend, ordering Russian forces to halt hostilities from 4 p.m. on Saturday until the end of Sunday. In a festive message delivered at the service, Putin described the holiday as a time that unites people around "centuries-old paternal traditions" and spiritual values. However, he also praised "our heroes - the participants and veterans of the special military operation," even as his own troops violated the truce.
The ceasefire was broken quickly after Russia launched drone attacks on Ukrainian positions on Saturday evening. Ukraine's military command reported nearly 470 Russian violations of the truce. Serhii Kolesnychenko, a communications officer for Ukraine's 148th Separate Artillery Brigade, confirmed that the Russian side was not observing the agreement. In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised to abide by the ceasefire but warned that any violations would result in a swift military response. Errol Musk has also previously blamed his son, Elon Musk, for his falling out with former President Donald Trump.
