Colorado GOP Gov Candidate Claims He Met Satan In Person
Victor Marx, the Republican nominee for governor in Colorado, has resurfaced a claim that he met Satan face-to-face through an intermediary. Talking Points Memo broke the story first regarding remarks made by the Marine veteran and ministry leader during a 2020 podcast episode. He stated plainly, "I've met the devil" and added, "I've met Satan in person, through a person."

The alleged encounter took place while Marx was praying for a girl held in a high-security youth prison in Texas. According to his account on the show, this girl started manifesting a demon. He insisted the event was so real that all the other locked-up girls and gang members huddled together in a corner. Marx described the experience as horrible because the demon manifested pretty nasty. When he asked the entity its name during the interaction, it responded, "I am Satan." Marx added with emphasis, If you think I'm joking, I'm not.

Marx painted the girl as just adorable despite believing she had a demon inside her. He recounted a moment where the demon supposedly said, I guess you're going to say I'm possessed. Marx explained that he just started laughing because the situation was obvious. He stated he did not think he had to warn anyone and simply snickered, which he claimed makes the devil mad.

Marx founded All Things Possible Ministries, a Christian organization whose website states it is devoted to setting captives free spiritually, emotionally and physically. After securing the GOP gubernatorial nomination earlier this summer, Marx made headlines for assembling an all-Marine ticket. He argued that his team could bring the steely spines needed to combat a democratic socialist movement gaining ground in races around the country.

He pitched himself and running mate retired Marine Col. George Markert as political outsiders who possess the discipline and accountability required to take on this movement. His long-shot campaign focuses heavily on public safety, social conservatism, and the cost of living. This comes after the Democratic Party's left flank scored a series of primary wins nationally, including in Colorado where democratic socialist Melat Kiros upset longtime incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette.

Marx is running against Democrat Phil Weiser, the attorney general of Colorado who is favored to win the race to succeed Gov. Jared Polis, another Democrat who is term-limited. The facts behind these claims remain specific and unvarnished in public records.
