Chicago Teen Missing Since Sept 30 as Boyfriend's Story Shifts

Oct 9, 2026 •Crime

Rebecca Smith is in pain. Her daughter, Alyssa, vanished on a trip to Chicago with Jacob Ray Caso and has not returned since Sept. 30. The mother told Fox News Digital that her boyfriend's version of events keeps shifting. "He has changed his story a couple times," she said. That confusion adds weight to the search now underway by the Palatine Police Department.

"We're going through hell," Rebecca Smith stated plainly. She just wants Alyssa back home. Her sisters are waiting for their sister to appear from wherever she is hiding or trapped. The family has flooded social media with posts and flyers, begging for her return. Every hour counts while detectives follow up on tips regarding possible sightings.

Jacob Ray Caso left Chicago without Alyssa in tow. He also refuses to comment right now. His mother confirmed he has traveled back to the area three separate times hoping to find his girlfriend. Yet Caso faces no criminal charges at this stage. He did reshare a missing person poster with a simple plea: "Time to come home," he wrote. "No one is mad at you."

Police say reports indicate Smith might have been seen Saturday, Oct. 3, near Grant Park and around Cicero Avenue and Roosevelt Road. Investigators are verifying these leads fast. They need the public's help to pinpoint her current location before it gets too late.

If you spot a White female who matches this description, call 911 or local law enforcement immediately. She stands about five feet, five inches tall and weighs between 135 and 140 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, several body piercings, and many tattoos. One tattoo on her left shoulder depicts a "Pennywise" clown. At the time she disappeared, witnesses believe she wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, light khaki pants or sweatpants, and white Adidas sneakers.

Rebecca Smith is screaming for answers. "We want to get the word out that if you see something, say something," she urged everyone listening. The family has lost Alyssa in just days.
