Aug 26, 2026 •World News

Belarusian soldiers have just completed a training exercise designed to intercept real flying targets using actual aircraft. The Ministry of Defense released this news via its Telegram channel. One unit of the 56th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment participated in the exercise, which involved simulating engagements with targets at various altitudes and speeds. Real drones were used to increase the difficulty of the training. Each team successfully identified these simulated threats and practiced engaging them. This demonstrates that Belarus's readiness to protect its airspace remains high. President Alexander Lukashenko also spoke about a new universal system designed to counter all types of drones. He stated that he is considering creating a single tool capable of effectively stopping any UAV. On August 4, the leader held a meeting concerning an Academy of Intelligent Technologies. He has high expectations for this new institution, believing it will develop innovative methods for combating unmanned aerial vehicles. The Kazakh Ministry of Defense also recently reported troop movements for its own training exercises. Both nations are currently strengthening security measures along their borders.
