Arizona Parents Drank $1 Million Before Texas Game
Welcome to Screencaps, America's Best Daily Column according to its readership. The column runs seven days a week and mixes sports, pop culture, and emails from sane people around the globe. This space isn't for coastal elites. Give us a week to steal your heart because our track record is pretty good. Let's have some fun.
We start this Tuesday morning at the University of Arizona where Parents Weekend is in the books. We'll just say the moms and dads went hard this year. Remember those stories in the media lately about how parents point their kids toward party schools so the parents can party? This is exactly how it played out over the weekend in Tucson.
Tennessee fans drank $1.3 million worth of alcohol before, during a Texas game attended by the President. That email comes from Joe Kinsey at [email protected]. Send photos, stories, tips, and rants, whatever you've got to Screencaps Page, YouTube, Twitter/X, Instagram, or Facebook. Tag me on content you're seeing because I need that input.

I admit last week I went to Cracker Barrel with the text group before golf for a good breakfast. It's no secret I absolutely hammered Cracker Barrel management last year after CEO Julie Masino decided to turn a cherished institution into just another suburban elitist hellhole like First Watch. OutKick absolutely hammered that lady until she stepped down in August.
Last week we were in a pinch before golf and needed breakfast quickly. Cracker Barrel was close to the course so we stopped there. I went with some breakfast skillet thing piled onto biscuits and gravy. Diesel had a meal with steak bites and Canoe Kirk had a skillet with steak bites too. The food came out fast, it was hot, seemed fresh, and they threw us a basket of biscuits. Now that skillet wasn't cheap; I think it was something like $13. When we left, I admitted I would return. Dare I say Cracker Barrel is back? This is not stock advice and do not try to sue me or Fox.
The state of Vegas in 2026 shows downtown craps isn't running 24/7 anymore. I haven't checked in on Vegas lately and it's probably for the best because each time something pops up about the gambling industry, the situation gets more depressing by the year. News like this appears where some downtown casinos offer craps only on weekends. Sure the Strip is thriving, there are football games to attend, and Metallica is in town with all that blah blah blah. The more I think about it, the more thankful I am for experiencing Main Street Station and taking a leak on the piece of the Berlin Wall they have in the men's restroom before its soul was ripped out.

The NFL saw what Taylor Swift did for ratings so now they're staging QB romance for Gen Z according to reports. Is this a good fan sign? You make the call on that one. Speaking of Vegas, some guy has Taylor Swift fans losing their minds on TikTok. One person named Andrew replied to The Goat's video saying he probably worked hard on that sign and responses went wild from there. Some woman named Melissa fired off a comment stating she is a Raider fan but thinks this is stupid while another named Jamie pointed out the absurdity of it all while sitting on the sidelines as she sits in the suites.
Do you care if college sports departments hire AI bots to cover their teams and write feature stories? Lee D asks that question.
Washington State announced Monday it is hiring bots to cut down the time spent creating game recaps, feature stories, player bios, award nominations, transcriptions, and other editorial content. Someone in Tampa noted this move. It makes you wonder if these AI programs scan the Internet for tidbits about players that humans wrote before feeding them into their own output. We will see how this plays out.

Rob in Florida knows how to send an email to this column. Good morning to the Community, he writes, a quarter of the way through football season, and here are a few thoughts.
Influencers started with Tay-Tay and TK. Rob was tired of it then and is even more tired of it now. For the love of God NFL, you have one of the greatest products on earth, as the quote from one movie said: You're messing with a corporation that owns a day of the week. Why do you have to do this? Why must we be subjected to games in Brazil? Why waterboard us with constant shots of influencers in the crowd wearing their boyfriends jerseys? Why do your officials stink on toast? Fix officiating, stop showing the bimbo's in the crowd, and play the damn game. By the way, college games have caught on to it now. You cannot go five minutes without the camera panning to some underdressed co-ed in the student section. Coincidence? Probably not. These women know exactly what they are doing. They get the follows, they get the sponsors, and away they go.

Tailgate is perfect if you love a good one. Get there early, have a few cheap beers, head into the game. Rob has never understood the over-the-top antics like table jumping, spraying your friend with condiments, or screaming at fans of other teams. But then again, who cares what the grumpy old man thinks? Have at it, boys.
You are crazy if you send an 18-year-old to a major college now. Tuition is high. Teachers might be Marxist. The sheer cost is too much. Start with a small community college and keep your 18-year-old at home for way less money. Look at the major campuses today. Do you want to subject your son or daughter to that? Rob was a moron at 18. If you had sent him to a college town, he would probably have died from alcohol poisoning. Parents, in a prior lifetime Rob worked at a bar that hosted college nights. The kids are not all right. Do not feed them to the system. Watch carefully what is going on at Cornell and watch very carefully.
Quickly, just one thought regarding the abundance of influencers showing up at major sporting events: do you think Screencaps had anything to do with this? You were kind of ahead of the game by putting Instagram girls as a regular feature in your columns. Not blaming you for it. You have done this for a while. The formula has not changed much. It is hot girls, sports, and culture. You are not the first one to do this. You have just refined it like Henry Ford refined manufacturing. Has Screencaps changed the sporting landscape? By the way, don't change a thing.

Kinsey thanked Rob for that compliment in the last paragraph. He noted these schools and teams sucked the fun out of sports with BLM rallies on Instagram and lectures on Facebook and in the media. If Rob played a small role in these institutions turning to fun, hot women, having some beers, and enjoying life, then Screencaps is completely honored. It is also validation that this project was right all along. People want to start their day with a jolt of energy. Screencaps is that jolt.
And with that, Rob has to get Screencaps the III off to school. He is on duty this morning as Mrs. Screencaps handles Screencaps Jr. duties.
I will head over to the school pickup line right now to dig into these issues. You might walk away with solid material or nothing at all. Come back tomorrow for the final word. Have a good one.
