Arizona coach pins student against wall during heated bathroom dispute
A school coach pinned a student against a wall after a heated argument over bathroom rules at an Arizona high school. Destiny Kilby's son recorded the entire incident on September 25 and sent the footage to AZ Central. The mother believes her own child faced unfair treatment from the staff member. She told the outlet that the boy's behavior did not justify such force. 'My message is: It's not OK to hurt children,' Kilby said in an interview. 'You're a teacher, you're a coach. You're supposed to be a trained professional to deal with those situations. If you can't deal with that situation, get out the kitchen.'

The video shows a staffer wearing a shirt labeled 'coach' squeezing a student into a corner. A physical fight broke out between a student and staff at Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix. The student cursed at the man while trying to grab his face. He yelled, 'You think I'm f***ing playing with you? You gonna wrap your hands around my neck, b****?' The altercation started over the school's bathroom policy.

Principal officials responded quickly by sending a letter home to all parents. The note stated that an allegation of misconduct involving physical restraint had come to their attention. An investigation is currently underway while they work closely with the Phoenix Police Department. 'The staff member under investigation has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.' Yet, the outlet adds that the staff member was back on campus shortly after that notice went out.

'It appears as there are more confrontations which take place,' said Jaime Molera, Arizona's former Superintendent of Public Instruction. She spoke with the outlet about rising tensions in schools. According to Molera, altercations between staff and students are not isolated incidents. These conflicts have increased significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic ended. The Daily Mail has reached out to Shadow Mountain High School for further comment on this troubling event.
