Andy Cohen Defends Bravo Amid 'MAGA Women' Criticism

Aug 26, 2026 •Entertainment

Bravo host Andy Cohen stood by his show on Sunday after a critic called it full of "MAGA women." He posted about this clash while flying, answering questions on Threads. One viewer asked why so many conservatives appeared on the series and said she could no longer watch Real Housewives of Orange County because of them.

Cohen pushed back hard against that label. He insisted the show is not political at all. He argued that without different points of view there would be no program. It focuses on women and their relationships, he noted in his post. Politics are not the main story here.

Fox News Digital asked NBCUniversal for a statement since they own Bravo TV. They did not reply right away. Several former stars have shared similar stories over recent years. Many say conservative views caused pushback even when those people were not strictly conservative themselves.

Kelly Dodd left Real Housewives of Orange County in 2021 after making remarks about the pandemic and accusations she mocked Black Lives Matter. She told Jamie Kennedy on his podcast last June that cancel culture made her feel like an outcast. If you do not believe along their lines, they do not like you, she said. She felt politically discriminated against for sure.

Annemarie Wiley of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spoke to Fox News Digital about being dropped after leaving in 2024. She cited protecting girls sports as a conservative issue that got her fired from the show. She received a terrible edit once the season ended, and she only found out later they did not invite her back because of her politics. Wiley said she was apolitical before joining the cast. She grew up in Canada and had been a Democrat her whole life. Then she felt forced to talk about this stuff. That experience made her look at what the two parties stood for, she explained.

Jill Zarin from Real Housewives of New York has criticized Hollywood friends for ignoring hostages during the Israel-Hamas war. She is also a friend of the Trump family. In 2025 she said Hollywood could not get behind getting them home. People were not wearing yellow ribbons while other things happened around the world, she noted. Hashtag Michelle Obama hashtag get the girls home was her plea to peers.

Fox News reporter Elizabeth Heckman helped write this report about these unfolding events.
